O groove da estrela do jazz Gretchen Parlato na edição de agosto do Sexta Jazz AF

Promovido pela Aliança Francesa Florianópolis desde 2014, o evento mensal é um dos mais importantes projetos de jazz e música instrumental de Florianópolis. A edição do dia 19 de agosto terá a participação da cantora Jéssica Pereira. Gratuito!

Gretchen Parlato é uma das novas vozes do jazz contemporâneo que se destacou na cena da música mundial na última década. A cantora norte-americana será a homenageada da próxima edição do Sexta Jazz AF em um concerto que apresenta, mais uma vez, música instrumental com alguns dos grandes virtuoses de Santa Catarina aliada à voz da cantora Jéssica Pereira. O Sexta Jazz AF Especial Gretchen Parlato será no dia 19 de agosto, às 20h, no Piso G3 (estacionamento) do Villa Romana Shopping, na Capital. A entrada é gratuita mediante apresentação de comprovante de vacinação. Vagas limitadas. 

Juntamente a outras personalidades do jazz, como Robert Glasper, Gretchen Parlato é uma das artistas que quebraram a tradição de gravar apenas jazz, propriamente dito, para gravar músicas que dialogam mais com ritmos contemporâneos, como a chamada Black American Music (Hip Hop e groove, por exemplo). A cantora de 47 anos também é reconhecida por interpretar canções de compositores que são seus contemporâneos. 

— Ela também flerta muito com ritmos do Brasil. Seu último disco, inclusive, é interessante porque é bem brasileiro, um acústico com a presença de instrumentos como violão e violoncelo, uma pegada brasileira erudita — afirma o músico Tiê Pereira, curador do Sexta Jazz AF. 

Tiê Pereira refere-se ao álbum Flor, lançado em 2021, com inspiração bem tupiniquim. O disco foi indicado ao Grammy 2022 como Melhor Álbum Vocal de Jazz e alcançou o primeiro lugar no lançamento do iTunes Jazz. Também foi classificado como o terceiro melhor álbum do ano no Jazzwise Critics Poll ’21.

O repertório do concerto do dia 19 de agosto será baseado em dois álbuns de Parlato anteriores ao Flor. Para interpretar as canções da norte-americana, foi convidada a cantora Jéssica Pereira. Ela se junta a um trio formado por Yves Tanuri (piano), Rodrigo Porciuncula (bateria) e Tiê Pereira (contrabaixo). 


Para quem curte cerveja artesanal, haverá venda de chope no local.  Também serão vendidos vinhos. Não é permitido entrar com bebidas.

Música e solidariedade 

Esta edição do Sexta Jazz AF terá, mais uma vez, parceria com o Conselho Comunitário do Córrego Grande (CCCG), da Capital, e arrecadará alimentos e brinquedos para doá-los a famílias em situação de vulnerabilidade social. Para participar da campanha, basta levar alimentos não perecíveis e brinquedos novos ou usados em bom estado no dia do evento.  

O Sexta Jazz AF 2022 é viabilizado pela Prefeitura Municipal de Florianópolis, Secretaria de Cultura, Esporte e Lazer e Fundação Cultural de Florianópolis Franklin Cascaes por meio da Lei Municipal de Incentivo à Cultura de Florianópolis. Apoio cultural do Villa Romana Shopping. Produção da Marte Cultural. Realização da Aliança Francesa de Florianópolis.
